We have just completed another Women’s Retreat. The theme was, “The Cup of Our Life.” We filled the hearts of over 40 women with an overflowing cup of God’s love.
This year we hosted women from at least eleven different cities and seven different denominations and God put on their hearts to join as one church universal! To me, that was the most amazing happening at this year’s retreat!
These seven denominations have rules within their church that other churches sometimes look down on. Amazingly, these are human rules and this one day, God helped the women to share eight hours together under One God, putting aside these human rules! Praise God!!!
We all shared God’s rules in many ways. There was singing praises to God, the room was filled with laughter and happiness, and we heard how God answers prayer. God likes it when we have deep faith, and even when we just sincerely pray. The ladies broke bread together and also shared in the Lord’s Supper. Sharing in the Lord’s Supper is also amazing because denominations can serve communion in many different ways.
Seeing other women and men serve and share their time made it a special day for all.
It’s my pleasure to share the name of those who gave of themselves. First and foremost is the Retreat Team of Gwen Borth, Carla Cisler, Debi Hallas, Kandi Krusick, Irene Lewis, Julie Rhyner and from Cornerstone Church, Sandy Lacy and Linda Maki. Others helping that day were Jacque Maki, Bernice Costen, Amy Guillame, Mike Strasburg and family, Pastor Park, Erick Hunter, Ray Lundquist, Gary Rhyner, Jim Lewis and his visiting friend Ken.
Behind the scenes were Charmaine Prewitt with flowers, Gary Anderson with computer help, Sue Ellenbecker who heard many times, “I need fifty copies of…”, and Donna Troseth who I work with throughout the year on finances.
I won’t forget all of you who prayed for the success of the retreat. With your prayers, “The Cup of Our Life” was filled to overflowing.
To follow up on that prayer and to add to the Prayer Series of our church, come and join us on Monday evenings at 6:30pm in the Prayer Chapel. Witness how prayer is given to those in need. You will be moved. Is your Cup of Life full or empty?
God’s Blessings and Happy Autumn
