Prayer Team: Hearty Family Growth
“We are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.” (Ephesians 3:20)
We all have a family and that’s a good thing. The family is our own unit, living together in a home together. Our families are like ripples in the water. Outside the center family unit we have grandparents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. More ripples appear with in-laws and grandchildren and so it goes!
When you belong to a church, you become part of another family. So it is with our church! There are lots of families to get to know and that can be hard. Together we form one large family.
In the coming weeks, we have the opportunity to get to know some new family members of our church family. You have probably seen the families (tribes) on our sanctuary wall. If you haven’t, please do! You may see some new faces not seen before. As the year plays out, we can get to know our church family better.
“So now you Gentiles are no longer stranger or foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people” (Ephesians 2:19). If you don’t know what tribe you are in, check the lists and pictures on the sanctuary wall.
Jesus told his disciples a wonderful message that is for all of us: “So now I am giving you a new commandment; love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples” (John 13:34-35).
So friends, be involved with your church family. Find the gift God gave you and put it to use in the church family. You will then find the scriptures coming alive in your life.
Find time to pray about your church life and if you come on Monday at 12:30pm we will pray with and for you. See you in the Prayer Chapel on Monday.
Blessings to our church family !
